Lime Plasters & Renders

The lime systems we install: base coats, finishes and bonding plaster for interior and exterior work, from old masonry to wood-fibre insulation boards.

Lime Green Duro, 25 kg bag

Lime Green · Base coat

Lime Green Duro

A ready-mixed lime plaster undercoat or lime render base coat, suitable for interior and exterior conservation work, historical building repair and refurbishment, and eco-friendly new builds.

  • Highly breathable: water evaporates rather than getting trapped behind the plaster, where moisture can damage stone, bricks and wood.
  • Suitable for walls affected by damp or salts.
  • Flexible and long-lasting, more resilient to cracking or crazing than a site-mixed lime render.

Applications: a base or levelling coat, finished with a finishing plaster such as Lime Green Solo. Also the base levelling coat for Warm Shell wood-fibre insulation boards.

Lime Green Ultra insulating plaster, bag

Lime Green · Insulating base coat

Lime Green Ultra

A lightweight insulating lime plaster base coat that is five to ten times thermally more efficient than other lime plasters: an ideal base coat for renovations, adding an extra insulation layer to internal walls and protecting against salt damage.

  • Hollow glass-bead aggregate makes up to 55% of its bulk, replacing sand, so it uses less energy to make and is lighter to transport.
  • Applied wet, it acts as a draught excluder, plugging small pores and gaps in the wall fabric in a way dry-lining cannot.
  • Good workability: applied like conventional lime plaster, with no complicated fixings.

Applications: a lightweight render or plaster base coat with extra thermal insulation.

Lime Green Natural Finish render bag on a textured render background

Lime Green · External finish

Lime Green Natural Finish Render

A beautiful external lime finishing coat. Natural Finish incorporates hydraulic lime and marble aggregates to give the finished render a durable and attractive appearance.

  • Available in a range of colours and textures, and needs no further painting.
  • A natural water repellent protects against the elements while keeping the breathability of a traditional lime render.

Applications: a protective coat over Lime Green Duro or Ultra base coats, and the external finishing coat for Warm Shell wood-fibre insulation boards.

SecilTek Isovit Lime, bag

SecilTek · Bonding plaster

SecilTek Isovit Lime Bonding Plaster

Specially designed for surface fixing and levelling, improving the thermal and acoustic performance of dark expanded agglomerated cork boards and wood fibre boards in exterior and interior thermal insulation systems.

Good to know: a purely natural hydraulic lime product and a direct replacement for SecilTek Isovit E-Cork, which contained a small amount of cement.

SecilTek Reabilita Cal AC, bag

SecilTek · Render finish

SecilTek Reabilita Cal AC Render Finish

Natural hydraulic lime blended with carefully selected aggregates. A dry bagged product: just add water.

  • A finishing coat in the renovation and rehabilitation of exteriors on old masonry.
  • The designated finish for wood fibre and cork board insulation systems.
  • Its thixotropic adhesion and permeability make it particularly suitable over old rendered substrates.

Applications: new or old rendered surfaces, as a finishing layer in conservation and renovation.

Wood-Fibre Insulation Boards

Breathable boards for internal and external wall insulation, used in our wall insulation work.

STEICO Therm Internal wood fibre boards

STEICO · Internal wall insulation

STEICO Therm Internal

A rigid wood fibre insulation board designed specifically for internal wall insulation (IWI). It provides a breathable solution for upgrading thermal performance while maintaining healthy moisture movement within the building fabric.

Applications: renovation and new-build projects, widely used in solid-wall properties and timber-frame systems where internal insulation is required.

STEICO Special Dry wood fibre board

STEICO · External, internal & roof

STEICO Special Dry

A rigid wood fibre insulation board for external wall insulation (EWI), internal applications and roofing. It provides a breathable, weather-resistant layer that improves thermal performance while protecting the building structure.

Applications: new build and renovation, behind render or cladding systems, and in roof constructions where insulation above rafters is required.

External Renders

Renders, basecoat and lime finishes for outside walls, including external wall insulation systems.

EWI Pro EWI-075 Silicone Render, 25 kg tub

EWI Pro · Decorative render

EWI-075 Silicone Render

A polymer-modified, ready-to-use render applied externally to produce a decorative finish on buildings. Suitable for brick, concrete, render carrier boards, traditional plasters, gypsum substrates and external wall insulation systems.

Highly breathable, so ideal on external wall insulation where breathable insulants such as mineral wool or wood fibre have been used. It is also flexible, so it can be applied as a render-only system, and unlike thicker sand and cement or monocouche renders it gives a robust, long-lasting finish that is unlikely to crack over time.

Finishes: thousands of colours (RAL or NCS) and grain sizes of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 mm, from a smoother look to a more textured one.

EWI Pro EWI-225 Premium Basecoat, 25 kg bag

EWI Pro · Basecoat adhesive

EWI-225 Premium Basecoat

Breathable, high-strength and durable. White Portland cement and a high concentration of polymer-modified binders make it stronger than other basecoat adhesives, and once dry it gives an incredibly strong, flexible reinforcement layer.

  • The reinforcement basecoat layer in render-only or mineral wool, EPS, Kingspan K5 and wood fibre EWI systems.
  • An adhesive to fix mineral wool (Rockwool) boards to a substrate.

Good to know: a 25 kg dry mix, mixed with clean cold water and left to stand for 5 to 10 minutes before a final mix.

EWI Pro EWI-747 Lime Render NHL 3.5, bag

EWI Pro Heritage · Lime render

EWI-747 Lime Render NHL 3.5

The flagship of the EWI Pro Heritage Range, for projects where breathability, durability and long-term building health matter. Natural hydraulic lime lets moisture move freely through the building fabric, so walls dry naturally instead of trapping damp.

It sets through carbonation, gradually absorbing CO₂ as it cures. With no chemical additives it gives a natural, sustainable and timeless finish.

  • External walls on solid brick, stone and traditional masonry.
  • Chimneys and exposed heritage features.
  • Internal walls where breathability is required.
  • Renovation and conservation projects.

Applications: inside and out, especially older buildings where moisture needs to be managed naturally rather than sealed in.

EWI Pro EWI-749 Fine Finish Lime Plaster, bag

EWI Pro Heritage · Fine finish

EWI-749 Fine Finish Lime Plaster

A decorative lime plaster for a super-fine, traditional lime finish inside and out. Natural aerial lime, natural pozzolans and graded aggregates give a smooth, shrinkage-free surface with excellent workability and a long open time.

Breathable and vapour-permeable, it helps buildings regulate moisture naturally, reducing condensation risk and improving indoor comfort.

  • Heritage and conservation projects.
  • Decorative finishing coats on lime-based systems.
  • Internal walls needing a fine, breathable finish.
  • Can be polished, or finished with lime paint or limewash.

Good to know: a finish only, applied over a suitable breathable lime base (or plasterboard), not directly onto masonry.
